Customize the portal and client home
A useful portal makes the next action obvious. Begin with the workspace default, then use a client-specific override only when the engagement needs a different experience.
Prepare the default
Review the theme, sign-in headline, public contact links and sidebar order. Add a welcome, tasks, milestones, activity and the resources a client needs. Use descriptive link text, accessible colors and real approved assets.
Understand overrides
A client-specific home or configuration can stop following parts of the workspace default. Account-scoped home-block editing can fork the client's whole base configuration, including its sidebar. A separately configured account home can conflict with block editing until that override is reconciled.
Keep layouts practical
The documented home builder supports up to two blocks per row. Keep the important action near the top, avoid crowded columns and test on a phone. Do not place a private file behind an unrestricted external link and assume the home page protects it.
Confirm the intended view
Inspect both the default and the intended account view after saving. Check links, filenames, navigation and visibility with the appropriate member role. A hidden menu is a presentation choice; it should not be treated as proof that the underlying resource has the right access rules.
